I Nodaway to Music! Chris Jobe

Maybe I'm just in a Summer mood, but it's a good mood, overall. Great music to be had, that is for sure. Especially when it comes to these guys known as Nodaway!

If you like Walk the Moon (WtM), you've found the band that needs to tour with them....a few months ago. When I read that it was for "fans of WtM" I was extremely skeptical, trust me. I enjoy WtM and think they can't be copied in the least, but Nodaway has hunted that unique sound and made it GREAT, again.

Just listen to "Lonely" and tell me it's not got that fun sound that is toomuch happy, in the best way. Please go 'LIKE' these folks called Nodaway and pay attention! They're liable to release some new amazingness that you may miss!

Feeling Fialta & It's Good!

Chill and poppy, these guys know how to!
Yes..more indie rock-ish pop harmony stuff! Fialta is one of those Californian bands that just hits the spot for me..especially these Summer days!

I think, this band is so great it'd be neat if you could go support their debut album on Bandcamp! Pay close attention to "Fiesta, My Love" as it has that summer catchiness and the sweet melodies that will be sure to make you sway.

So, go get your suit on, don't forget sunscreen, and support this talented Fialta group! I'm stoked because they're recording new music, and it'll be out "soon!"

The Great Scott (Harter)

New Nashville Sound and great at it!
In the mood for some solo artist choons?! Check out this guy's EP "Nobody Knows My Name" on my favorite website..like..ever..literally.

Scott Harter has that sound if you're looking for catchiness and alternative poppiness. But it's not the same ol' same ol' lyrics either. They're simple, and sometimes that makes an artist stand out..especially if they're honest and real.

There might be just a li'l of some Nashville "twang," so it might appear like country at times..but not to worry if you're not into that genre! His musical influences include Garth Brooks, so it does make some sense! Haha.. Just go and support OK? Solid stuff..!

With Wind in Sails You'll Go Far

It's that softer sound, with a folk-acoustic touch
When I want to share something softer, but still an indie sound, I can't help but blab about it the best way I know how. So, Wind In Sails is how you can..float along and listen to some greatness.

He is all about being genuine and real in his lyrics, and of course.. I love that. It's a softer folk-acoustic-rock sound that is just hit perfectly.

Look for the song "Heart to Focus" as the lyrics make quite a lot of sense and speak such wisdom, particularly in today's messed up society. Please go and 'Like' his facebook page and I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

It's Just About a Young Summer

And so, it was time for more. More classiness. More beauty on the inside and out. More fantastic earcandy! So yes, Young Summer is sweet.

While named Bobbie Allen, Young Summer is quite the moniker for this kind of pure magic. If you're looking for that indie/pop/electronic sound, but are tired of hearing guys work at it..you have found the perfect woman. (Yes, women win, often. This one is no exception. Appropriate that i'm posting on Mother's Day? More of a fact that women just keep winning? My mom wins all the time.)

Singing with that real and raw emotion that i can't seem to get enough of, one can certainly feel it in every word sung. Something about the, realness, just resonates and hits me right in the heart. i Hope it does the same for you.

In talking about how she's on the rise and building a stronger fan base, Coachella in California certainly helped! Nono, she should have been on the lineup for Coachella, but she did support Odesza in a few songs! and that was a flawless performance that maybe (hopefully) made Zyra a little concerned?... Anyway, please, go to Young Summer's page and he'p her out! She's close to 10,000, but that's not near enough. Being on the radio more is a necessity and so many people are missing out!

i Wouldn't Mind Having These (The) Inlaws!

Lookin' all right!!
Let me start with a few questions. It's ok, the first one should be easy: Have you heard of Steven Curtis Chapman? How about his son CALEB (no, not all caps, but his sons are in a band called Caleb? NO? Let me try again, how about Colony House (because that's what "Caleb" is called now)?!

If not, there's a young lady named Jillian Edwards. WHo married one of those sons (Will)! And, Caleb and Will and Jillian are in a band!! Yes, indeed. The news is that good.

Well, i thought it was time for a nice chill duo sound again, so there you have it. The Inlaws have quite the chill, folksy, and perfect sound. Please check 'em out and enjoy.

Personally, i like their song "Future" the best, but maybe that's because that's the first one i heard? They're all great though, please the support EP! And let's keep hoping for more tunes from such a great li'l group!

The Blue of Colors (is the Best Color)

Pensive rocking out is what he do's! via
Back to a little bit of the pop/rock side of good music, Blue of Colors does it all right. And i mean that, this guy do's it Right.

While using some sort of auto-tune, and slamming guitars and drums, it is the fantastic combination of it all that makes it work so flawlessly. i Get into fun lyrics like his because, it simply makes me smile. Just check out his song "Jenn's Song" and you'll see what i mean..(and maybe i relate to it too, soo, who cares!?)

Head over to the Blue of Colors facebook page and be sure and click that 'LIKE' button. Quite sure it is appreciated, and check out this guy's stellar project!

Sun Rai Requires Sunglasses, in a Good Way

Jazzy Talent via
Felt it was time for something quite different again. And "different" is good.. Most of the time. Sun Rai is no exception. From Australia, he's got a sound you wouldn't expect..i'm pretty sure!

Some jazz, some pop, some indie.. = All great! And did i mention he's from Australia? Pretty nifty, indeed.

i'm trying to get more international music in my library, so if you know of somebody, please submit away here! And Sun Rai? Yes, go follow and support away! He's got quite the deal on his new EP "April Skies."

Silver Trees in a Perfect Forest

Acoustic folk pop = straight killing it    via
Thought it was time for some softer tunes. You can stop looking for some with Silver Trees. He's got a new EP out now that's completely worth the purchase, but because you may doubt me....stay on that Noisetrade link and enjoyy!!...then..go buy the new EP Fighting the Rust.

He's definitely got some pop/folk-ish sounds, but they're flawless. It frustrates me that i've taken this long to post him on here, but now that Silver Trees has a place on this here li'l blog, i'm glad.

As you probably can see from the facebook page, he needs some serious 'LIKES!!' Please, please help and support such talent. Here's to hoping for that full-length album sometime "soon!"

The Hubbub of Rocketboys!

Rock on with some Rocketboys!                     via
Here's a nice rockish noise for you! What's more? The lyrics are terrific! Just check out the appropriately titled song "The Best!" The Rocketboys are a neat group of guys I saw open for The Almost and Relient K, and it was quite the show!

This band live sounds a whole lot like their recorded selves, and that is something to be treasured today. While it may be a little harder than some of the bands that i've posted on here, give these guys a listen too!

The Rocketboys' (formerly known as Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys) Facebook profile deserves some attention for sure, so please go help 'em out! i Know they'd appreciate it. And, rock a little with some good music!

My Name is (not) You, but Someday Soon..

So much classiness. via
While i love linking you to free music, it's always good to remember that: it's crucial to buy this amazing music as well. Artists need to eat....so they can keep making music, of course!! So feed them, the poor incredible people. This is a band that must eat..because. If you don't think so, well...you may just be..wrong.

Check out "Fortunate Ones" which is the first song i heard and immediately thought it was more than enjoyable. Once i decided to buy their full-length record, my heart just..was going to say "melts," but i feel that cliché won't do it justice, so my heart actually falls, cracks and shatters into tiny pieces in a happy and understanding heap when i hear "One Good Reason."

Why is this duo so far up on my list of best duo's ever? Maybe it's the harmonies and honest lyrics. Maybe it's the indie and folksy sounds. Maybe it's the..plain, sweet accented (she's from Scotland!) talentful (yes, here that's a word) little group whoM i got to meet while they were backing up Joshua Radin on his tour. Please, dive into My Name Is You, they need your support and are too incredible for words.

Sugar + the Hi-lows If You Have a Sweet Tooth!

                                      Here's a happy duo!                          via
Thought it was about time for another duo! Amy Stroup or Trent Dabbs? Talented solo artists? Put 'em together and what do you think you'll get? Pure fun and games..with something sweet! These two know how to make you smile, that's for sure.

This duo likes the "oldie" sound and pull it off fantastically. Maybe some elements of the popular She & Him, but i like these two better. They've got a sort of old rock-pop sound, that works well with their voices. Take a listen over at my favorite site, NoiseTrade of course!

If you know these two separately, then you know that they stand out from among other vocalists..what's so neat, is that together they still sound s0 great and complement each other just right. Give "Two Day High" a listen to find out what i mean. For me, Sugar + the Hi-lows is just what one needs for a pick-me-up (if people still say that?). Please go give 'em a hand with some 'likes', and why not dance while you're at it?!

Can't Even.. Carousel!!

Music you can do anything to-- happy chilling          via
And now for something completely different. Lookin' for something to dance to? Hang out to? Drive/wash the dishes/vacuum/pack/travel/dance/sing/bang the steering wheel to? You've found it.

These guys come from California, and while these guys have more than 10K 'likes' on facebook...they're not on the top 40 yet and it's killing me. These guys have a "chill" sound and it's just too groovy to pass up!

Carousel's song "Another Day" is quite the jam and will introduce you well to the group. However, i first heard them through a remix of their song called "Let's Go Home" by Sound Remedy. What a choon my friends. But look these guys up please. Support as much as you can, they'd appreciate it and i'm hopeful for a new album this year!

Hm? What Was That? Hem!

Some twang, but it fits well!                               via
Well, reader, as you can see from my previous post...i'm coming at this sight from a different angle. i Don't want to bore you, but i've got to tell you!! There are so many artists out there that deserve more attention, and i want to give you the band name, a song to find, and the link to find out more. Exploring music is what i love, so join me!

Some more pretty vocals for ya' in this post! Hem's album Funnel Cloud is a good one with some sort of a country and folk sound. They've got some twang, but with the harmonies and smooth vocals it works nicely! Check out the song "Not California" to find out what i'm talking about.. Great tune, but....makes me sad because CA is my home, and everywhere else i can blare this song...ahem. Enough about that.

So please, these guys need some help over at the Hem page! And, enjoy a li'l bit of countray!

Meager Fare is Far from a Meager Sound!

Pleasant folk, who are more than pleasant!                   via
Please excuse the Serious Lag in my postage... However, while i've been away...holy shmokes,
have i got some tUnes to share! Coming from near where i'm finishing my undergrad life, is yet another good ol' find on NoiseTrade!

Welcome in some pleasant acoustic and folk sounds with Meager Fare's EP. Pretty sure that banjo is scattered in these guys' music, and it's just fine. Great harmonies too, that might make me want to sway and sing along with a smile.

When i was finishing up Summer '13, i couldn't stop giving "Alibi" a listen.. And, i participated in a give-away and won!! They were so nice and went out of their way to make sure i got my free TEE! Anyway, these guys deserve some more attention like crazy. Please go give them a 'LIKE' on that facebook page, and listen (and maybe sway?) away!

A Wayfarer (Pacific Gold) Away from The Begging Sea

               Hymns with a twist!           via
So guys, you remember how Sherwood broke up and we were all crushed? Well, the good news is that the tunes go on!! It is survived by Dan's project Wayfarer (now called Pacific Gold) and Nate's project called The Begging Sea. Quite different from each other, but please check them both out!

For Wayfarer, it's about taking old hymns and such, and putting a new twist on them. It's an experience and one you don't want to miss out on Try the rendition of "Alas and Did My Savior Bleed?" and see how the tune is a good bit different...but, the words haven't changed!

Of course, the familiar vocals of half of Sherwood are there and fit well in the new melodies of the old classic. Some hymns are a tad rock sounding, but others can be a lot more soft or folk sounding. There's something about hymns that i like, but these new sounds make them work even better. Please go explore, and worship with him!
           An emotional ride begins...     via
Meanwhile on the open seas, Nate's band also has free, melodious music swimming around. A music video of' the song "Lightly Stepping" is a great representation of his sound. However, heh, as you might have seen if you clicked that link..there's much more.

Nate's vocals come through powerfully and take the listener on an emotional ride that might just force misty eyes. Some songs seem to have that Sherwood influence and it makes me smile and wish for the olden days. But that is the past and we have to move on...while occasionally clicking play on some classic Sherwood. Ahah.

Anyway, please enjoy and share! Both of these talented guys really need the attention and deserves a lot more as neither of the facebook pages have reached 2,000 yet!

[A Little] Pop But More Than jake Jess Penner

A pretty and Classy one!                                             via
Time for another pretty lady voice. What's that? You're doubting me? Well shuckidarns, go download her second album then! Fine! It's called Growing In the Cold and of course it's free, but..i mean really, can't you tell Tipping her wouldn't be too much to ask?

Jess Penner is just.. Plain Classy! Although different and a little less pop-ish, her first full-length album (Love, Love, Love) is still a great listen, but if you like the NoiseTrade option more, that's fine too. i Can't decide what i like better, but if i had to pick i guess it would be the Cold one...because, i like..the cold and the poppy-ness of it but, i'm weird and i digress.

She has a loverly voice that combines well with the synthesizers, chimes, acoustic guitar, light drum beats, and whatever else is goin' on! But seriously, check Jess Penner out please, and thank Hawaii they let her settle in California to create some tunes! Plus, it turns out her mom makes Saturday Waffles-- a vital key to being successful in life..i know.

Bronze Radio Return Needs to Arrive on the Radio!

Some energetic sounds, but the Right ones!                      via
Oh this band! i Don't really want to write too much about this amazing band. i Feel you'll be able to fill it all in when you download this free sample. It's called A Bit of Bronze and it's just..too stinkin' good.

Seriously, these guys are a bigger band, but their sound is...so..filling! Not only banjo, but i'm talkin' harmonica too! Acoustic guitar, harmonies, crashing drums, swinging electric guitar, and on and on! What else do you need to know? That i'm hoping to see these guys live because i know it will be breathtaking?

Honestly, you've got the link to the free stuff. If you just can't handle it, like me, here's their new album on Amazon, called Up, On & Over! Go jam to some energetic guys named Bronze Radio Return, who have got the right indie and folk sounds!

If Feeling Alone, Just Remember We Are Lonesome Animals

                           Such a Lovely sound!                              via
Sorry about the inactivity friends! Shuckidarns..getting caught up in Summer. Needed to help you all out though so here's Somethang! Well...i was hoping i'd have more info on these lovely subjects. It's crazy how secretive this group is!! Next to impossible to find pictures, bio, let alone names! For starters, i know they work with William Fitzsimmons, or did in the past.

Especially for this album, Soft Light, he had a pretty big hand in it i'm pretty sure. In other words, if you like that Fitzsimmons but would like a female version..holy..shmokes. Have you found it!

Frankly, the only reason i know of these pretty mellow voices and sounds is because of Fitzsimmons! If it weren't for him...whew. Don't know how long it'd be before i'd hear of them, let alone find them online! Lonesome Animals don't even have a standard facebook page if you look at the URL. Naturally, not having much out there on the World Wide Web, their 'likes' are Far from where they should be!

Think of it as more of that stuff to just..relax to. Go to sleep to, lie to and hope you don't fall asleep during, or any number of activities..ahem. It can be sorta' folk, with an ambient touch most likely as well. Tuneage. That's what it is.

Their excuse for not going on tour yet is needing somebody to take care of their plants?! Shoot..i'd be more than honored and Thrilled to do that if i could meet them and attend a show! Please take a listen and...take it Easy.

You Haven't Heard of The Likes Of Us?!

It's an over the moon sound!           via
Guess what time it is? Oh yes. Gotta' love these dynamic duos right?! i Know, i know. Before i forget, head to that fantastic tune donating site and download their album "The Likes of Us." Then close this page and listen..and..wish your life was as fun as those sounds.. Oh excuse me! You can keep reading if you'd like...naturally.

On their StageIt.com show, i asked if they want me to say anything specific on this here site. They replied, "Hmm, good question... That we're ridiculously good looking..?" Obviously they have a great sense of humor. Of course that's far from all there is about these two.

Honestly, these two are so far up on my list of Best duos i put them up there with Little & Ashley. The Likes Of Us has got that flawlessly over the moon sound. It only makes sense as they say a big influence has been the 1940s-- a euphoric time period, i think!

Besides being filled with talent, joy, and lyrics inspired by some golden years, their songs contain quite a bit of acoustic guitar pickin'/strummin', some orchestra infusion, light drum smatterings, and more.

i Know they would appreciate your support, so believe me when i say...you don't have to listen to samples of their music before you download that free album. It's just... Worth it! In all the meanings of that word, "worth!" Got me?
